Two Ohio players interested in the Boilers

Jessica Davenport and Brittany Hunter list Purdue

Coach Curry & Company are making some sort of inroads with the Class of 2003 -- or maybe that Katie Gearlds' commitment has gotten some sort of ball rolling. Two additional players from the class have Purdue listed among their possible college destinations.

Jessica Davenport, 6'6" from Independence H.S., Columbus, OH. She was first-team all-state this past year for Division I by the AP and part of the OGBM dream team. Rated #61 by All-Star Girls Report, some other names listed in Jessica's bio are the Boilers, UConn, Duke, Ohio State, Tennessee and others.

The other player who lists Purdue is 6'4" Brittany Hunter out of Brookhaven H.S., Columbus, OH. She was in attendance at the Nike Camp last summer in Indianapolis and was amazingly good -- one of my favorite players at the camp, regardless of class. The AP has listed Brittany as a first-team All-Stater for the past two years. She's a member of the OGBM dream team and the Metro First Team. All-Star Girls Report rated Brittany #25 while Blue Star has her listed as the ninth-best player in the country.

As with Jessica, Brittany lists major powers of women's college basketball as possible destinations: Purdue, Tennessee, UConn, Duke, and Texas.

You can read about Brittany's play at last year's Nike camp here on the MrHoops.com website in our Nike Camp Scouting Report.
