I think the issue of injury is somewhat of a moot point. The women have scholarships already built in for that tendency, as they have two more than the men. I think when you step back and look at Versyp having 15 scholarships, it's a reasonable question to ask. I find it difficult to see at any position where we would go three deep at any given time in the season.
I think if we have a freshman who might want to ease into college and take a redshirt, the staff should definitely listen. If for some reason we suffer six knee injuries, you can always pull a player off redshirt if it gets that dire.
I liked what Versyp did with full court pressure the times she ran it while at IU. I'm anxious to see how she can do with 15 athletes in Purdue uniforms.
And taking the development issue completely out of it, I am glad Versyp is using all 15 scholarships. I always thought it was a waste for scholarships to go unused when you could give another girl a shot at a free education.
