Liz Podominick (sp?) was the Minnesota player who gave up basketball to concentrate entirely on track and field--and there is some speculation that she might not have done that if she had been somewhere else (in other words, if Borton had not been her coach and she had been happier on the team). Purdue recruited her quite heavily before she decided to stay in Gopherland. And as I recall, Purdue's own Corissa Yasen was a track star (not a volleyball star) before becoming a basketball star. I personally am very much looking forward to having Sam in gold and black and having her in the Boilermaker family, and I personally don't care if she jumps 5'4 or 4'4. Go, Sam!!
