> Samantha is no doubt a fine athlete. However, in the 32 years of Indiana track and field championships for girls, nobody has ever won the state title in the high jump with a jump of less than 5'5". The state record is 6' and it's been many years since anyone won with a jump of less than 5'7". What's remarkable is that she is competing in track and field because many outstanding athletes today in larger states who are skilled basketball players end up competing in one sport regardless of their ability in other sports. You see a lot of basketball/volleyball players, but not many basketball/track and field. Carol Duncan was one and Minnesota had one who is world class in the field events and gave up basketball.
