History suggests that 'they' don't know how. Lenny Dawson, who brought out the trophy but was ignored by stadium and tube announcers, was a SB MVP. Bob Griese was also a SB MVP.
We live in a 'what have you done for me lately world'. Brees and the Purdue RB found today's recruits in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grade. They do not have a clue who Dawson or Griese were, much less Mike Phipps, who in my view, was the best QB while at Purdue.
If you have toured the memorabilia in the Mollenkopf Center you would wonder why our FB history is not taken more seriously. It comes across as an 'Is this all there is?' Flat footballs, faded photos, skimpy collections, etc.
