Media's fault: Credit Purdue coach Joe Tiller with some awesome "aw shucks'' strategy that very nearly gave the Boilermakers a win. Tiller spent much of last week joking with reporters about Oregon's "all world'' players and how Bellotti should loan him a couple of them to make things fair.
"Some of our kids read some sportswriters' articles about how it wasn't going to be a game and how fast we were,'' Bellotti said. "That's all a bunch of b.s. The reality is Purdue is a very, very good football team.''
