Visits and offersMike Carmin at the J&C had a summer update on some recruiting targets. Purdue received visits from 2017 Idaho guard Tori Williams, and 2017 Missouri post Madison Treece last week.
Williams has been a long time target, and was scouted well when Purdue was also chasing her AAU teammate Destiny Slocum. Williams is said to be down to Utah, Washington, Oregon State, and Purdue, and plans to make a decision any day now. Williams is ranked as the #56 prospect by Prospects Nation, and the 12th-best point guard by ESPN. Point is probably her best position, but she does have some combo guard skills and is very respectable from the perimeter.
Treece is a 6'4 post that was part of the recent mass exodus from Kentucky, and is ranked as the third-best post player in the class of 2017. Her sister is a rising junior at Oklahoma. Not much out there on her current list, but her coach has stated she is getting lots of calls and hopes to narrowing down her choices over the summer. After what happened at Kentucky, she might not be too motivated to make another early commitment.
Purdue has also extended a couple offers to visitors at summer camps. 2019 5'9 point guard Rikki Harris and 2020 6'1 forward Sydney Parrish both got official offers from Versyp. Harris is a point guard who can pour in points, and plays for Indianapolis North Central. Parrish, from Fishers (IN), has a growing national reputation and did very well this summer at USA Basketball U17 tryouts. Only three of the 153 players invited to the tryouts had yet to play a high school game, and Parrish was one of them.

Purdue still in hunt for three top 12 prospects
Purdue remains in the game for three 2017 prospects ranked among the top twelve in the nation, per ESPN rankings.
Sidney Cooks, a 6'4 post/forward ranked No. 6 in the class of 2017, recently reduced her list to ten. Purdue, the first school to offer, is still in the hunt along with Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Penn State, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, Tennessee, UCLA, and Wisconsin. Cooks is currently playing with the USA Basketball Womens U18 National Team.
Right below her at No. 7 is Gary (IN) rising senior Dana Evans. The 5'6 point guard lists DePaul, Indiana, Louisville, Oklahoma State, Purdue, Tennessee, UCLA, and Vanderbilt. Evans is also playing with the USA Basketball Womens U18 National Team, along with Sidney Cooks.
Coming in at No. 12 is another point guard prospect from San Antonio, TX, 5'7 Kiana Williams. Purdue set out for Texas to scout Williams in July, and is motivated to sign a point guard in 2017. Williams is down to Baylor, Kansas, Ohio State, Purdue and Stanford.
Scouting reports
Former University of Indianapolis assistant Jen Conely is now working for Blue Star, and recently had a writeup from the 2016 Windy City Classic which brought in about 400 teams. A few Purdue prospects caught her eye during the event.
Hailey Brown 2017 6-2 Forward/Center (Ancaster, Ontario ON Hamilton Transway 17 Nurse Juel Brown is a mobile forward/center that plays hard on both ends of the floor. Offensively, she likes to score around the basket on post moves (has a nice up and under), putbacks, transition layups, and basket cuts. She is pretty versatile, has a nice shot from 15 feet (did not see her pull any threes) and looks comfortable going off the dribble. Brown is also active defensively and will apply pressure on the perimeter. In one defensive possession, she had four blocked shots.
Rikki Harris 2019 5-10 Guard (Indianapolis, IN IN George Hill Lady Stars 17)- Harris is a tall, athletic guard that can knock down threes, attack the basket, and help facilitate the offense. She has a solid skill set, a nice shot, and is dangerous in transition. Her ability to rebound, push, and score in transition is fun to watch. Defensively, she can also block shots.
Kayden Lawson 2020 5-9 Guard/Forward (Beachwood, OH OH Toledo Thunder 13)- Lawson is a skilled guard/forward that has a nice shot and will attack off the dribble. She will set up shop in the midpost and square up to go to work. She uses her size and athleticism for putbacks and transition layups. Defensively, she is solid on the boards and can block shots.
