Purdue gets home visit with Napheesa CollierPurdue has a home visit scheduled on September 10th with Missouri combo forward Napheesa Collier. The 6'1 junior has Missouri visiting on the 9th, followed by Purdue the next day, then a list of ten additional programs through the month of September. Other Big Ten programs paying visits are Maryland on the 12th and Nebraska on the 26th. Home visits are allowed for high school juniors as a result of a rule change. Coaches used to have to wait until a player's senior year to set up a home visit. For all intents and purposes, September 1 officially begins the heavy recruiting process for junior high school players. Not only are home visits being set up, coaches are allowed unlimited texts and phone calls to junior prospects beginning September 1.
Maggard to attend 40/40 Camp
Junior Darby Maggard has been invited to the John Lucas 40/40 Camp in The Woodlands, Texas. The invitation-only camp is a classic exposure camp with sponsorship from the Nike side, so you see scouting from the likes of Blue Star and Boo Williams. Most of the evaluators in attendance are involved in the voting process for the McDonalds All-American game, and a good showing can boost a player's McDonalds stock. Players are evaluated through a series of skill stations and during competitive games. The goal of the Lucas camp is to bring in underexposed players, work them out, and pick out the underexposed that deserve a little more exposure.
