OGFP Girls Prep Report: Sam Ostarello

A look at Sam Ostarello and Stanley County through the first three games of the 2008-09 season.

Stanley County 43 - Sully Buttes 56: Sam led Stanley County with 13 points in the season opening loss to defending state champion Sully Buttes. Stanley County hasn't won their annual matchup with Sully Buttes since 2003. Sam was saddled with three first-half fouls before fouling out in the second half.

Stanley County 48 - Philip 43: Stanley County moved to 1-1 on the season with a 48-43 win over Philip. Stanley County outscored Philip 20-9 in the fourth quarter for the come from behind victory. Ostarello led all scorers with 14 points, nine rebounds and three blocks.

Stanley County 64 - Jones County 38: Stanley County (2-1) hung the first loss of the season on Jones County (3-1). Sam finished with a double-double of 19 points and 19 rebounds. Stanley County only led by two points early in the second half, but easily ran away with the help of an overwhelming 40-15 advantage on the boards.

Next Game: Saturday, January 3rd at Redfield.
