Two Illinois prospects of interest
Two names to keep an eye out for in Illinois are junior Janae Smith and freshman Morgan Tuck. Smith, a 6'0 forward from Rich Central, as had Purdue, Notre Dame and Duke on her list for a while. Tuck, a 6'2 freshman who has yet to play her first high school game at Bolingbrook, was said to have impressed at the Purdue Camp this summer. Tuck is the latest in a long line of Bolingbrook players with Division I potential, a player head coach Tony Smith says "I think this kid is going to be that good". Add to Tuck the recent rumored transfer of 6'3 junior Marissa Taylor from Lansing (MI) Waverly, who was spotted at a Bolingbrook football game this year with Tuck, and Bolingbrook continues to be a Division I farm team.
Catching up on the recruiting board
As mentioned on the forum on Monday, prospect Brianna Jones of Toledo has committed to Illinois. The Jones commitment helps the Illini with an impact player who can help immediately in 2009-10, especially considering expected post workhorse and incoming Illini freshman TeAndrea Smith has not qualified and will likely be heading to a junior college for two years. And more recently, 6'4 Ontario post Kayla Alexander has committed to Syracuse, according to Tony Bleill over on IlliniHQ.com.
