Wilson qualifies for state, Reed places fourth
Ashley Wilson set a personal record of 38'01" in the 12-pound shot in her first year of track last week, qualifying her for the Class AA prep girls track meet on Friday. The throw was good for fourth-place in the sectional.
In action Friday, Wilson threw for 36'03.5", and by the end of Saturday, the distance wasn't enough to place her in the top ten. The Class AA shot title was won by Daniella Bunch of Mahomet with a throw of 49'04.75". She entered the state meet ranked 24th.
Down in El Paso, Texas, Purdue prospect Cokie Reed placed fourth at the Texas Track and Field State Championships in the shot put. Competing in Class 4A, Reed threw 38'09".
Rayburn, Guyton and Fisher in all-star game
Indiana Miss Basketball Brittany Rayburn, Indiana All-Star Alex Guyton, and Purdue volleyball recruit Tiffany Fisher have been chosen to play in the Hoosiers Reunion All-Star Classic in Knightstown’s Historic Hoosier Gym on June 6. The girl's game tips off at 6:00 p.m., followed by the boy's game about 8:00 p.m.

Harmon to tryout for National Team
Emilee Harmon is one of 35 high school players selected to take part in the U18 National Team Trials from June 9-12 at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. The 35 athletes, born on or after Jan. 1, 1990, will compete for one of 12 roster spots on the 2008 USA Women's U18 National Team. Other players conidering Purdue attending the tryout includes Skylar Diggins, and Cokie Reed. Harmon, Diggins and Reed are only three of the twelve juniors invited. The remainder of the roster consists of 22 seniors and one sophomore.

Versyp To Offer Hoops Camp At Mishawaka
Purdue head coach Sharon Versyp returned to her hometown of Mishawaka for the weekend to spend time with her family and to prepare for this summer's hoops camp she will hold at her alma mater.
The Purdue women's basketball Mishawaka Day Camp will be held June 23-24 at Mishawaka high school. Players in grades 4 - 12 interested in registering may do so online at www.purduesports.com. Cost for the two-day camp is $85.
