Bentley to visit Duke

Ben Davis junior guard Alex Bentley is scheduled to be at Duke this Saturday for an unofficial visit. Duke has not yet offered a scholarship, and Purdue remains the only school on her interest list to offer her a spot.

Chelsea Jones named to all-star team

Purdue signee Chelsea Jones has been named to the West squad for the Arkansas High School Coaches Association Girls All-Star Basketball Game. The 53rd All-Star basketball game will be played at 6:00 p.m. on June 19 at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville, Ark.

Jones was also recently named first team All-State by the Arkansas High School Activities Association, and was also named to the Class 7A All-Tournament team.

Sam Ostarello named All-State

Sam Ostarello was the only junior named to the South Dakota Class A All-State girl's basketball team. Landing on the second team, Ostarello was honored for helping Stanley County to the school's first state tournament berth since 2001. She averaged 19 points and 10 rebounds this past season.

Liz Horton honored

A player we have seen in Mackey on a couple of occassions is getting honored in southern Indiana. Sophomore Liz Horton of Washington High has been chosen the 2007-08 Player-of-the-Year by area coaches. She averaged 16 points and 10 rebounds per game as a sophomore.
